EMMY’S CREATIVE JOURNEY
Christmas her Senior year, her grandmother gave her a used Singer sewing machine. Emmy was hooked. She used that machine to start her first sewing business at age 18 to make speciality doll clothes for a local doll maker.
In college, she continued learning new creative skills and opened an embroidery and monogramming shop called Threads.
After college, Emmy closed her monogramming shop to go to work for the fashion design company, Project Alabama. As their Production Designer, Emmy oversaw the sample development for all their handmade collections. Project Alabama’s client list included celebrities as well as high-end boutiques and online stores like Barney’s New York, Macy’s, Net-a-Porter, and Ikram. Emmy had the opportunity to travel with the collections she over saw as they were modeled in New York, Paris and Milan.
After several years, Emmy left the company and launched her own collection of personalized and handmade boutique accessories, gifts and decor products under the Emmy Wilson brand.
Today, Emmy brings her love of sewing, digital design and pattern making to the world as a maker and boutique products designer.
